Western International Market
In commitment to ensuring minimal food waste amongst our tenants, here at Western International Market we have a long-standing partnership with London’s largest food redistribution charity, The Felix Project.
They have been honorary residents here at the market since July-2023 with a dedicated collection point where traders can take surplus produce during the course of the trading night and accompanying loading bay for their vans.
An incredible 1,160 tonnes of edible produce have been rescued, providing the equivalent of 2.6 million meals between July 2023 and September 2025.
Through Felix this high-quality nutritious food is then given to over 1,200 community organisations, such as food banks, homeless shelters and primary schools. These incredible places work on the frontline to feed people who are experiencing hunger and cannot afford to regularly buy the food they need. Feed the Hill is a social supermarket New Cross. They receive around 700KG of surplus from The Felix Project each week.

The Felix Project is London’s largest food redistribution charity. Started in 2016, its vision is a London where good food is never wasted, and no one goes hungry.
It works with hundreds of suppliers from across the food industry, including supermarkets, wholesalers, farms and restaurants to rescue high quality surplus food, that cannot be sold and would otherwise go to waste. The food is sorted at one of four depots in North, South, East and West London or sent to Felix’s Kitchen, which uses it to cook around 5,000 nutritious meals every day.
